A couple of months ago, the Bachchans (read Amitabh Bachchan)
purchased a sprawling bungalow behind the family’s main residence,
Jalsa, in Mumbai’s plush Juhu area. And now, we have got to know that
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan has bought a plush four-bedroom apartment in
Mumbai’s Worli area for a
reported sum of Rs. 5-6 crore.
For Ash,
the only idea behind buying an apartment is investment. And she is more
than happy with her decision. In fact, on Monday, she went with her team
to take a look at her newly-bought property,” says an insider close to
her.
For the uninitiated, the 39-year-old is also the brand ambassador for the real estate company’s project (in central Mumbai), in which she has made an investment.
“Right now, Ash isn’t even thinking of how to put her new purchase to use in the future. Everyone including Abhishek (Bachchan; Ash’s hubby) is aware of her decision and has extended their full support,” adds the insider. Ash couldn’t be reached for comment, while her spokesperson refused to comment. Before moving to Juhu after marrying into the Bachchan family, Ash was a resident of the Khar locality in the city, that is populated with several other film stars.
With Big B’s latest bungalow behind Jalsa, for which he apparently paid Rs. 50 crore, the Bachchans now have five bungalows in the Juhu-Vile Parle Development Scheme (JVPD) area —their first-ever house Prateeskha, Janak, which they bought in 2004 and is largely used as an office; Vatsa which has reportedly been leased to a bank and Jalsa, where the family lives currently.
