More than 100 witnesses will give evidence during Paralympic star Oscar
Pistorius’s murder trial next year, court documents reveal.
South African prosecutors will argue that Pistorius is guilty of premeditated murder in his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp’s death, a charge which could carry a life sentence.
According to Sky News, a judge has decided that Pistorius will go on trial in March over the killing of Steenkamp.
Court documents show that more than 100 witnesses will be called to give evidence at the trial, including one of Pistorius's ex-girlfriends.
The 26-year-old double amputee is accused of killing Steenkamp in a shooting incident at Pistorius’s home in February.
Pistorius has denied he committed murder and said he shot Steenkamp accidentally, thinking she was an intruder.
The case was sent to the High Court in Pretoria.
A judge will preside over the trial and ultimately pronounce the world-famous athlete innocent or guilty, the report added.
