Kidman has been making headlines in her many appearances as an official
member of the Cannes jury, but this may be her biggest style move yet:
an elaborate braided updo.
The Huffington Post reports that Kidman, 45, wore the updo to the “Venus in Fur” premiere on May 25, pairing it with a feathered Chanel dress. They point out that Kidman may have taken inspiration from the runways.Nicole pulled her hair back into a loose, swirling braid reminiscent of the twisted rosette hairstyles we saw on Rodarte's fall 2013 runway,” the site writes.
Styleite called the hairstyle “a beautiful cinnamon roll” and the final step to Kidman’s “Cannes style domination,” while Grazia called the look “Princess Leia plaits [with] a modern twist.”
Kidman kept the rest of her hair in tousled waves, adding some volume to the crown and embracing her loose flyaways.
Grazia points out that Kidman has worn a number of elaborate hairstyles at Cannes, including a ponytail with a ribbon, a sleep faux-hawk, an Old Hollywood side-sweep with curls, a Grace Kelly-esque bob, and an elaborate “bird’s nest” updo.
