i, June 2 (TruthDive): Mahesh Babu will not be doing a cameo in Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming film, Chennai Express.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Chennai
Express stars Deepika Padukone opposite Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan
and the film will also feature South actors like Satyaraj, Manorama,
Mohan Ram and Priyamani in special appearances.
Recently, rumours in the film industry
said Tollywood star Mahesh Babu was roped in to do a guest role in this
movie. Such rumours started when Babu attended a party that was hosted
for SRK in Hyderabad.
When both SRK and Mahesh Babu were seen
together, many assumed that the South superstar must have agreed to be a
part of the film and would do a cameo in “Chennai Express”, like
megastar Rajnikanth did in SRK’s “Ra.One”. But now it is learnt that
there is no truth to these stories.
The rumour became very strong as
“Chennai Express” has other south stars like Satyaraj, Manorama and
Priya Mani doing prominent roles. Priyamani has done an item number in
the film along with Shahrukh Khan. But a source close to the film
rubbished the reports of Mahesh Babu’s special appearance, terming them
as “baseless”.
“Chennai Express” is slated to hit the
screens on 8 August. This will be Deepika’s second film with Shahrukh
after 2007 film “Om Shanti Om”.
Akshay Kumar starrer “Once Upon A Time
In Mumbai 2″ (OUATIM 2) is also releasing on August 8 along with Chennai
Express. Directed by Milan Luthria, “OUATIM 2″ also stars Imran Khan
and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles.
The trailer of “OUATIM 2″ was launched
on Wednesday, but the trailer of “Chennai Express” is yet to release.
Earlier, it was said that the trailer of “Chennai Express” would be
released during the final match of Indian Premier League (IPL), which
was held in Kolkata’s Eden Garden Stadium. But, the trailer was not
launched during the event.
