As per the reports, Shahrukh Khan, the co-owner of Kolkata Knight
Riders, has proved what he promised to his fans. As per SRK's promise,
the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League
(IPL) witnessed a grand and extravagant performance by Khan, Deepika
Padukone, Pitbull and Katrina Kaif.
As per the reports, around 50,000 spectators were present at the
brightly-lit Salt Lake stadium. The much-awaited show started with
classical dancers serenading two giant lamps, and dancing in white, gold
and red with diyas in hands. As more dancers joined in, Shahrukh's
voice boomed Tagore's "Where the mind is without fear" in the
background.
It was a dazzling ceremony combining Bollywood's glamour quotient and a
medley of diverse cultures showcased by American rapper Pitbull and
Tagore's compositions, that kick started the year's most-awaited event
at Kolkata.
