Aishwarya Rai Cannes 2013 Recap [PHOTOS] Gowns and Saris, Rai's Weight Loss

Most people agreed that Rai had definitely shown her critics that she was back to her slim pre-baby self.
Still, her desi outfits were considered too conservative, just like Vidya Balan's with critics saying, "This was Aishwarya's worst dress on the red carpet...we are disappointed," as per Indian Express.
"Ash wore a full-sleeved, intricately embroidered anarkali which swamped her figure," said NDTV, "an outfit just a shade less frumpy than the cream chikankari sari and embroidered jacket that we so hated last year."
We definitely thought that the former Miss World looked gorgeous nearly every time she stepped on the red carpet.

The simple outfits she wore for her L'Oreal shoots and appearances were elegant and slimming.
Her anarkali gown made by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla was beaded all over and looked like it weighed a ton. However, Rai carried it off with ease, her hair in loose waves and her makeup natural.

Her one-shouldered, blue Armani Privé gown was also stunning although we might have preferred her with a more "undone" hairstyle.
The beaded Elie Saab that Rai wore in her first red carpet appearance was probably our least favorite even though it was greeted with great applause in the media.

In addition, Rai also wore a black and gold sari by Sabyasachi to the premiere of "Bombay Talkies" at the night celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema and a gold sari to the amfAR gala. Both outfits were elegant and striking

  1. I think Aishwarya Rai is the only actress from bollywood is in good shape after her marriage. It's great to see her back in film after her first child's birth. :)
