Deepika Padukone has topped the Times 50 Most Desirable Women Poll 2012 with 7.01 lakh votes online.
Reacting to this in ‘Bombay Times, Deepika said she hoped that her victory was about her as a person and not just limited to her physical attributes. At the same time, she would like people to aspire to her triumph in the industry without any film background.
She valued her Critics’ Choice awards recently at the first TOIFA (Times of India Film Awards) some weeks ago and admits that such polls should not be taken seriously as the positions would keep changing. The other top nine are Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Chitrangda Singh (!), Sunny Leone, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri (!!) and Sonakshi Sinha.
Other prominent names include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (pretty high even today at no.11), Mallika Sherawat at No.36 and the controversial Poonam Pandey just scraping in at 50.
