With the Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination dates already out, the Human
Resource Development Group of CSIR has kick started its online
application from 5 February 2013. The exam will be conducted across
India on 23 June 2013 to determine the eligibility of candidates for the
award of Junior Research Fellowship and to determine the eligibility
for the recruitment of lecturers in 6 subjects under the faculty of
Science & Technology.

The mode of examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions for all the six subjects namely Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences. The exam will be conducted at 26 centres across India in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The minimum qualification to take this test is Master’s Degree in BE/ BTech/ BPharma/ MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/ MSc or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for Reserved category candidates). The test will also feature negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, as per scheme of Examination.
