There have been various rumors regarding Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback into the Bollywood industry. Many fans have been wondering when the former Miss World will be returning in a new film. Now, reports are saying that Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan are returning to the big screen together as a lead couple.
Aishwarya Rai has made no secret that she is reading scripts for her return in the Bollywood industry. Apunkachoice reported that the makers of the remake of Shekhar Kapur’s classic movie, “Masoom,” want to cast the Bachchan couple as the lead roles.
“Masoom,” a cult family drama, will be remade in today’s context. Himesh Reshammiya negotiated for the remake rights with the original producers Chanda Dutt and Devi Dutt. Bedabrata Pain has also been brought in to direct the film since he did a great job with his historical drama, “Chittagong.”
The producers won’t start filming the movie until they have received an answer from Aishwarya Rai and Abhiskek Bachchan.
It’s been two years since the actress has released a movie. Rai has been keeping busy with motherhood, taking care of her baby girl Aaradhya, but now she might be ready to get back into the film industry. There has been talk that Mrs. Bachchan will continue her acting career and do a remake of the classic film "Bemisal," directed by Karan Johar. She was last seen starring 2010’s “Guzaarish.”
“Karan has been thinking about casting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Rakhee’s character from the original. In fact, he is in talks with Aishwarya,” a source told Bollywood Celebden. “She has been away from the films for a while and we haven’t heard of a confirmation yet from her end. But if all goes well, we will hopefully see her return to the big screen with this.”
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently seen in the public eye on the red carpet when she appeared at the 2013 Cannes. She was seen in a teal Gucci Premiere gown with hot pink lips and stylish up-do bun.
The former Miss World previously stated that an official announcement would be made once she has confirmed to return in a new Bollywood film.
In the mean time, Mrs. Bachchan has been taking part in endorsement deals doing photo shoots for Kalyan Jewellers and The Lodha Group’s new project, The Park.
