Why Sachin Tendulkar loves Iceland in Sports

Of his own admission, there are few places in the world he’s not visited in the last 23 years since he started playing international cricket. While most of his travel was in the line of duty, Sachin Tendulkar has been steadily notching up air miles privately globe trotting with just his family.
Though the master blaster counts London as one of his favourite international destinations, he insists that his most memorable trips were spent exploring the length and breadth of India with his wife Anjali and children Sara and Arjun. “There are so many beautiful places to visit in India and I think that it’s important for us to appreciate what our own country has to offer.
I have made it a point to show my children places like the Golden Temple, Jallianwalla Bagh, the Taj Mahal there is so much history, so much to learn about India,” said Tendulkar, who we hear is already planning a big break once he hangs up his boots after his 200th Test. While he’s not ready to reveal where he’ll be heading, he did suggest that it could be a completely offbeat destination. “I really like Iceland. I had spent a week there around 4 years ago and one of the nicest thing about it is that I hardly ever had to reach for my credit card there’s practically nothing there to go shopping for,” he grinned. Was that a hint aimed for Anjali
