On Wednesday, as Sachin Tendulkar stepped out to play his 199th Test at
the Eden Gardens in Kolkata the cricket great was watched in the stands
by his son Arjun and wife Anjali.
The giant screens at the grounds decided to welcome Anjali and Arjun Tendulkar with a message.
The big screen message read, "Welcome to Mr Anjali Tendulkar and Master Arjun Tendulkar at Eden Gardens on the occasion of the 199th Test match of Sachin Tendulkar."
Clearly the person who put out the message thought Anjali was a Mr rather than a Mrs.
This is hardly a surprise as on Tuesday, India skipper MS Dhoni pointed out an error in Sachin's spelling on a banner above the scoreboard during the team's practice session.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) officials swung in to action to erase a major cause of embarrassment - an unwelcome 'e' at the end of Sachin.
