When Priyanka Chopra danced in spite of viral fever

It came as no surprise when at the recently concluded South Africa Indian Film and Television (SAIFTA) Award function held in Durban, Priyanka Chopra performed as per schedule in spite of suffering from viral fever. The Barfi actor gave an astounding performance, winning her a big round of applause from the 6000 odd audience at the Durban International Convention Centre.

So committed was Priyanka about her performance that she headed straight to the venue from the King Shaka airport in Durban after boarding an eleven-hour flight from Mumbai. She performed to a couple of her hit numbers but brought the house down with her Desi girl act from Dostana.

On the same day before boarding the flight, she attended a promotional even for her film Zanjeer in Mumbai. Before her performance she walked the red carpet, all the while smiling for the cameras.

She even presented the opening speech for an important award, the Madiba Award, which honours exemplary contribution to a particular field or cause. The award was won by Nelson Mandela for his relentless freedom struggle in South Africa. His grand daughter Ndileka Mandela accepted the award on his behalf.

And if this was not enough she even threw an after party for her Bollywood friends Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Siddharth Malhotra among others in her suite. Was it because she had just won the SAIFTA trophy for her performance in Barfi?

It may be recalled that when Priyanka's father Dr Ashok Chopra passed away in June, the actor got back to work within three days to train for her film based on world boxing champion Mary Kom.
